United Trailers has announced long-term sponsorship of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR.com) -- the country’s largest professional off-road racing sanctioning body. United Trailers will provide official trailers and related equipment for WSORR through the 2011 season.
“This is a very special opportunity for us,” said Mitch Herald, vice president, sales and marketing, United Trailers. “We have received minor exposure in off-road racing in the past but now we are ready to penetrate this emerging market full force,” he said. “We are very impressed with the WSORR program and consider the Series to be a breakthrough sponsor property,” he commented.
As the “Official Trailer of WSORR”, United Trailers will provide three customized units serving as colorful mobile headquarters at every World Series event. Included in the official WSORR trailer sponsorship is a 40-foot registration and hospitality trailer, 38-foot safety and tech trailer and a general cargo trailer. “We are looking forward to high exposure at all WSORR venues,” said Herald.
In addition to specialized motorsports hauling trailers for off-road race teams, race cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs, United Trailers is also a leader in general cargo, construction, landscape, contracting trailers and mobile vending and merchandising displays. One example is a specialized vending trailer unit designed specifically for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.
“We visited United Trailers in Bristol and were very impressed with their operation and management,” said Jake Flannery, chief race steward, WSORR. “We are excited about working with United Trailers -- one of the dominant trailer companies in the nation,” said Flannery. “They are a growing enterprise and maintain a high level of customer service with superior product quality and that is our kind of sponsor,” he said.
“We examined the WSORR organization closely before committing,” said Herald. “Their outstanding relationship with Lucas Oil, BorgWarner, the Forest County Potawatomi and other satisfied sponsors was important. They have an outstanding TV package and race at venues and markets crucial to our success as a trailer manufacturer. The World Series is one of the greatest values in professional racing circles and United Trailers is delighted to be part of this high energy, explosive sport,” he said.
